To celebrate his 30th anniversary, the Musée des Ursulines presents the exhibit It happened on October 10th. What happened on October 10th? For the Ursulines, October 10th marks the day of their arrival in Trois-Rivières in 1697. But around the world, October 10th refers to different events, some happy and some not so happy. The present exhibition sheds light on some of these events.

In collaboration with the College Marie de l'Incarnation, the Musée des Ursulines presents Expomix an exhibition with the most beautiful artworks of 4th graders.

A guided visit of the historic chapel is available. Built in 1715, the chapel, with its frescoes and sculptures, is an architectural marvel.

The Ursulines of Trois-Rivières have dedicated themselves to the education of the young girls of the region for more than 300 years. A guided visit lets you discover the buildings, such as the refectory, the classrooms and the Great Hall, that once housed boarders and day students.

Over 300 Years of Live Memory, this exhibition, which received the 2009 Award for Excellence of the Société des musées québécois for its contribution to the development of museology in Québec, will take you on a journey through the community’s tangible, intangible and archival heritage. It should be noted that this is the first year that the intangible religious heritage is open to visitors year round. This new and essential exhibit focuses on the incredibly rich intangible heritage that was at risk of disappearing along with these women who devoted their lives to God and to the education of young girls.

Arrived at Three Rivers in 1693 to take charge of the missions, the Recollects, from the Franciscan order, proceed to the construction of the convent in 1742 and the church in 1754. The property served as a hospital, store, court, prison and place of worship for Protestants. In the early 19th century, the church was consecrated and became the St. James Church always held the symbol of Anglican presence in Three Rivers.
